If someone asked me what time period I would want to live in, I'd have two answers. Both fall into the "BC" category (sorry fellow Catholics). I'm not going to put these in any specific order other than when they would have happened. So, please read and enjoy. #1- Back when we were all hunter-gatherersAgriculture is the invention that either made or broke mankind, depending upon who you ask. It allowed us to create cities and eventually society, which led to a huge population boom now that we could feed so many people. But is society really a good thing? I honestly think not. That's why choice #1 is pre-agricultural, when every human would still be a hunter-gatherer, going around the world in groups based on food availability. More of a, "primal lifestyle, lets say. One that I find quite interesting and honestly freeing from all this society crap we're exposed to on a daily basis. It would just be me and my "pack" of companions, and we'd spend our time hunting, like we're meant to do, and relaxing, telling stories, playing games. Life would be so much simpler, and easier. No more complicated "you gotta have money and a pretty face to move up in life"; rather, it would be "who's stronger and who is liked better". The criteria for things in life would be so much better and fairer. Yes, there are trade offs, such as no technology or tampons,m as Marni keeps reiterating, but to me that would be a small trade of to living such a simpler, more focused primal lifestyle. Life would be fun, an adventure, and without all the crap society likes to throw at us these days. And, if something did come up, a good ol' brawl would be the simple solution. No more living like we own the place. I wanna live like we were intended to, one with nature. #2- In a kingdomYes, I realize that this almost completely contradicts the first choice, but welp. Live with it. Yes, I'd want to live in a time when there were still kingdoms and kings, noblemen and knights. Now, I wouldn't want the diseases or anything like that, but I'd totally want to live in a castle. I wouldn't want to be queen, but some Lady under her, but not too far down in ranks. The politics of such a time fascinate me, as, admittedly, does the scandals. I love medieval dresses and outfits, and I'm fascinated with the secrets I would know and keep, and all the power I would have. Not absolute power, cuz I wouldn't be queen, but just enough to get a taste without the responsibilities. I would love to have people devote their entire service into caring for me, and carrying out all my orders so I wouldn't have to do a thing except say the words. Yes, I would like power, without responsibilities. But then, so don't we all?
