We are finally here! 7 hours driving the first day, then to go see Jeff Heller and his family in Lee's Summit. It was a great time! Our first "hotel" stay was a nightmare... it was a nonsmoking studio that smelled like smoke. Luckily, we were able to change rooms. Everything was beat up and chipped, the door didn't close all the way like it was kicked in at some point, the window screen was bent, etc. I did not sleep well. Then, back on the road for a breakfast at IHOP, and then 3 more hours of driving to the gigantic Bass Pro shop. We got lost and ended up walking around half the building...outside. There was also a few flash flood warnings. Finally, we arrived at our hotel and it is NICE. The Watcher before the fall
